What you will do as a business development manager:
The primary responsibility of this senior business development position is to participate in the development of a detailed marketing and business development plan and its execution.
The right candidate will have exceptional communication and organization skills and will be able to conduct technical discussions with prospective customers.
In this position, you will:
Provide input into a long-range business plan and develop a detailed associated marketing/business plan, including a marketing strategy and customer call plan
Capture and interpret market intel (directly from customers and indirectly from publications, trade shows, and other sources) and share intel with others through regular communications and through entry into ARA’s customer resource management (CRM) system
Develop and maintain business relationships with domestic and international customers
Contact customers on a regular basis to understand their needs/plans and to describe how ARA technologies may help their efforts
Meet with customers (virtually and in-person), which will likely include regular travel through the continental US and occasional travel outside the continental US
Attend designated conferences and trade shows
Participate in licensing negotiations with customers
Assist with preparation/delivery of briefings to ARA senior leadership
Collaborate with ARA subject matter experts to develop value propositions to customers
Business development manager requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred
10+ years of demonstrated business development experience in the fuels industry using disciplined business development processes
Specific knowledge related to the fuels refining marketplace and the licensing of fuels-related technologies
Willingness to travel
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
